Chris is the best trainer out there! Mia was completely transformed by his training. He keeps the dogs engaged and learning new things everyday. Socialization, leash walking and timid behaviors all improved. We could not have asked for a better human to train our canine. We will miss him as he heads to Canada

Moe was a 2 or year old rescue that we adopted. He had a lot of anxieties including a fear of young men (we have sons in their 20s) and cars and trucks (we live in urban area near a busy street). Within a few sessions with Chris, Moe was a calmer less anxious dog. He now enjoys all visitors and walks around the neighborhood.

Every piece of advice, training, and direction he gave us with our puppy Ruby actually worked. We did the puppy 1:1 training with him the first 7 weeks that we got our new puppy (and many 1:1 sessions after that) and it was the BEST decision we made as new puppy parents.Because of Chris, Ruby is crate trained, potty trained, place trained, and more - crate, pen, and place shown in the photo! The amount of times we’ve gotten compliments on how well behaved and trained Ruby is too many to count. It’s all because of the unbelievable training Chris has given us. He can do anything from basic obedience to intermediate training, and above! Thank you for all you have done for us, Chris!

The dog I have now is not the same dog that I adopted in February and that is all due to the expertise and passion for training that Dog Genius has provided Boscoe and I. When I adopted Boscoe it was virtually impossible to walk him without using a great deal of force to keep him from pulling, leaving my condo was a battle due to some separation anxiety, and he fixated on and barked at other dogs frequently. In our first 1-hour intro session, Chris provided exceptional training and provided explanations as to why Boscoe was exhibiting this behavior, and demonstrated how to correct the behavior. In that 1-hour session Boscoe had done a complete 180 and set us on the path of making significant progress for improvement.Chris is the best trainer I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. He is respectful, caring and loving of all dogs, and is clear and direct about what is needed to train your dog based on the initial flags and concerns that you provide. After a couple weeks of focused training, Boscoe was a joy to walk and I could actually enjoy several miles of walking without experiencing him pulling or trying to redirect a single time. Barking at other dogs - both out on walks and inside the house looking outside - has completely ceased. Chris also helped train him to stay in place which has proven to be invaluable with guests and strangers approaching the house.You are doing yourself and your dog(s) a great disservice if you don't utilize the services and expertise that Chris and Dog Genius provides. We're so fortunate to have found them, and could not recommend Dog Genius more!! Thank you, Chris & Dog Genius!!

We've been working with Chris for about 2 years - doing both individual sessions and board & train. He's the best. I've recommended him to at least 15 other people. Not sure who got more training - us or our dog Autumn. But we are all living our best life together - due in no small part to Chris. Choosing a dog trainer is such a big deal. You want to know you're working with someone who can help and who you and your dog can trust. Autumn practically comes out of her fur with excitement any time Chris comes over for a refresh. We feel the same :)

Chris is an amazing dog trainer, as he combines discipline with true care and understanding of each dog’s personality. Chris has trained my smart and highly active working line German Shepherd, and has taught me alot in this area as well. My dog is always excited to go to train and board with Chris when I travel abroad!

Insanely impressive how fast Chris was able to get my three large Rottweilers under control. Then used to drag me around the neighborhood. Now they walk at my side, stopping and sitting at every road, and ignoring any and all distractions. Highly recommended IF your dedicated to improving your overall relationship with your pets.

I loved Dog Genius and Chris, the owner. I worked with him for two years . He helped me manage and control my yellow lab, Beckley , who is two years old now. Unfortunately Chris moved away and I am still lamenting the loss.Chris was great at really listening to the issues I was dealing with at home with our dog. He was always giving helpful tips and advice on how to manage Beckley in a more controlled manner. He would teach you how to handle different situations and be with you when you were learning the new routines or technique- and not just telling you how do do it all. He would show you how and give you time to practice in front of him . Every time Chris came for a training session he would sit down and ask how things were going with our dog. He would always give helpful suggestions that REALLY worked. I never thought our dog would be able to sit in one place and be good and behave until Chris taught me how it can be achieved. Lots of practice and expert advice from Chris has helped our dog become more manageable. I always felt that Chris definitely genuinely cares about our dog and helps us both to succeed.

I met Chris after trying out 3 other highly recommended trainers. None of them were able to connect with my pup Daisy - 50lb mutt, who is very anxious and takes a while to warm up to people. Chris was able to quickly gain her trust and effectively train her. She was pulling hard during walks and was very leash reactive. Once we got the pulling under control, I adopted another large pup. He is a 65 lb pittie puppy who was mouthing hard, jumping at me in a scary way, reactive towards other dogs, and uncontrollable on walks. Now he no longer mouths, we’re working on his jumping when he’s vey excited, but I’m able to loose leash walk both my pups at the same time and 90% of the time they don’t react to other dogs when we’re walking.

I highly recommend Chris, who helped train our puppy. He was integral in her house training and obedience, as well as addressed issues that I would not have even considered. Chris is very personable and clearly loves dogs. I would definitely work with him again!
